Hashtag

A keyword prefixed with # that tags a post to a topic, making it discoverable to people following or searching that term.

A hashtag is a #-prefixed keyword that files a post under a topic. Tap one and you get a feed of everything tagged the same way, which is how hashtags add a discovery layer on top of your followers — surfacing a post to people searching or browsing that subject.

Their pull varies by platform and has faded as algorithms lean on content signals over tags, so a relevant few in the caption beat a wall of them — overstuffing can dent reach or even risk a shadowban.

TipCount yours against per-platform limits with the hashtag counter, and weigh whether they earn their place in do hashtags still work?
