Influencer

A person with an engaged audience and the credibility to sway their followers' opinions and buying decisions.

An influencer is someone whose audience trusts their recommendations enough to act on them. The category spans celebrities with millions of followers down to micro-influencers — niche voices with a few thousand highly engaged followers, who often convert better precisely because they feel less like advertising.

For brands, influencer partnerships are a way to borrow credibility: a recommendation from a trusted creator functions as social proof, and the content they produce is a form of user-generated content you can amplify. Fit and authenticity matter far more than raw follower count.
