The permanent, canonical public URL of a single post — the stable address you link to and share.
A permalink is the fixed, public web address of an individual post — the URL that doesn't change, so anyone can open, bookmark or cite that exact piece of content. The name is short for permanent link.
A permalink usually contains the author's handle and a unique post ID, and it's the URL that platforms read Open Graph tags from to build the link preview when it's shared elsewhere. It's also the canonical target for analytics and for pointing other content at a specific post.
